How to code CSS (CASCADING STYLE SHEET) in a Beta Blogger Template.......

The Beta Blogger Template consists of the five main parts outlined in Parts of the Template.

 1. Of these the first part is where the HTML is declared.
 2. The second part consists of the title and the metatags.
 3. The third part is peculiar to the beta template and is where the Variable Definitions are defined.
 4. The fourth part is where the style of the web page is defined using CSS.
 5. The fifth and last part consists of the 'Body' of the web page and it is where HTML plays a major role. The fifth part lies between the
and
tags.

The fourth part of the template is where the CSS is defined and this lies between

<b:skin>/*

and

</b:skin>

This where you can define the colors of the background, the size and color of the various Sections and the fonts color and size within the blog. The color and behaviour of the Links in your blog are also described here. Here also you can define various graphic elements in your blog. A sample CSS code is given below :

body {
background:$bgcolor;
margin:0;
color:$textcolor;
font:x-small Georgia Serif;
font-size/* */:/**/small;
font-size: /**/small;
text-align: center;
}

This defines the various properties of the body of the blog. The body is the whole webpage and in this sample code is described its background, margin, textcolor, textalignment, font-type and font-size. There are many other properties which can also be described here such as background-image etc.

I followed your suggestions here to change the width of my blog at http://chinesekite.blogspot.com/, I was sort of successful. However, I could not expand the post body to the full, i.e. there is a gray area left in the post body part, which is part of the side bar. Can you please tell me how to correct this? Thanks.

ChineseKite,

For templates with graphics you have to resize thhe images as well. See how it was done for the Rounders Template.
