Two Types of Custom Domains.Using Blogger's Custom Domain facility you can redirect your blogspot blog to a brand new domain or URL and it will cost you only 10$. Blogger is not however responsible for domain management services which are offered by Godaddy or Enom.
Custom Domains work by using changed DNS records in DNS servers. There are two types of Custom Domains...........
The two types of Custom domains are :
1. Blogspot to Custom Domain.
2. Blogspot to Custom Subdomain.
When you buy a domain name (mysite.com) you can redirect your blog to it (www.mysite.com). This is the first type of Custom Domain.
In the second type you create subdomains within your domain (mysite.com) like :
blog.mysite.com
docs.mysite.com
mail.mysite.com
start.mysite.com
blog2.mysite.com
blog3.mysite.com
You can then redirect one blog to each of the subdomains listed above. These subdomains can be created in your account with Godaddy/Enom. This free account is created when you buy the domain name from Blogger.
The control panel login page is at https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/MYSITE.COM/Advanced.
Be sure to replace 'MYSITE.COM' with your actual domain name. Login to your domain manager by clicking the link in the email you got from Google Apps when you bought the domain.
The configuration for the two types of Custom Domains is different :
1. BLOGSPOT TO CUSTOM DOMAIN :
In this type set the CNAME record for www.mysite.com only to point to ghs.google.com.
Do not set CNAME record for mysite.com.
Then set the A record for mysite.com as follows :
:MYSITE.COM. A IN 216.239.32.21
MYSITE.COM. A IN 216.239.34.21
MYSITE.COM. A IN 216.239.36.21
MYSITE.COM. A IN 216.239.38.21
Lastly go to Settings----->Publishing in your blog and click on Switch to Custom Domains. Then click on Advanced Settings and in Your Domain box type :
www.mysite.com
Enter the Captcha word and save settings.
2. BLOGSPOT TO CUSTOM SUBDOMAIN :
In this type you will redirect your blogspot blog to blog.mysite.com.
For this set the CNAME of both :
blog.mysite.com AND www.blog.mysite.com to ghs.google.com.
Next go to Settings----->Publishing in your blog and click on Switch to Custom Domains. Then click on Advanced Settings and in Your Domain box type :
mysite.com
Enter the Captcha word and save settings.

If you are publishing to a Custom Domain www.myblog.com go to Settings---->Publishing---->Advanced and enter that in 'Your Domain' text box/field. Then save settings after entering the verification word.
After that is successful you will get a checkbox below saying
Redirect myblog.com to www.myblog.com
Click that to put a check in it and again type the verification word and save.

I just bought 2 domain names from GoDaddy and intend to drop the "blogspot" from my 1 blog and "wordpress" from my wordpress blog. Two questions: 1) Is Googlepagerank affected in any way? 2)I have a few Feedblitz subscribers, will their subscriptions be blocked if I change my blog names? I apologize if you already covered this, but I wanted to cover all bases before I went ahead and did this.

Good questions! The Page Rank issue has already been discussed in Moving from Blogspot subdomain to your own domain.
Page Rank does not transfer immediately. It may take upto six months but you get same page rank as before (does not start from zero) unless you break some Google webmaster guidelines in the new domain.
Their subscriptions do not change since they are subscribed to same feedburner feed URL which does not change.

Why would you want to do that? It may result in duplicate website attracting penalty from Google.
Well, I have some blogs tomat1, tomat2, tomat3, one by year more or less, and the last is the present one (now 6) and I'd like to have it redirected to the main domain with a short name. The old ones are only for historic purposes and could be on subdomains, and I'd like that the subdomain for the last one (6) were ready before doing the switch to a new actual blog (7), so in some period one blog should have both adresses.
¿What is the effect of the duplication and penalty of this?

One blog at a time cannot have two addresses. You can redirect one address to another using Custom domain but the final address seen in address bar of browser is the blog address.
So a blog redirected from one address to another is in reality only one site and there is no duplication of content.
You can buy one domain :
www.tomat.com
and then make subdomains in it like this :
www.tomat1.tomat.com
www.tomat2.tomat.com
www.tomat3.tomat.com
and redirect the respective blogs to each subdomain and also redirect one blog to the main domain.

I've been posting YouTube vids on my blog for a year, but now suddenly they wont show up on the page. At least not on my computer. When I use Camino, you dont see the vid at all (just an empty space in the page); When I use Safari you can see the YouTube box, but when you hit the PLAY arrow nothing happens. Its very odd since I can go to the EDIT POSTS in my dashboard and PREVIEW an individual post and the vid clips will be there. But when I VIEW BLOG the clips don't show up. Im very invested in my blog. Can you help me?

Oh! And just so you know everything I do. If I go to Firefox, I can get the YouTube vid image; but it wont play. However, if I click on a picture or go to COMMENTS, then click back again to the page, my vids will play. On Camino I get no YouTube image at all, and on Safari I get the vid image but its locked in place and wont play. Finally, I went to my local internet cafe(which uses Mozilla/Firefox), and my vids played fine. So...there it is. Thanks again!!

You should compare the following parameters at home and at the Internet cafe :
1. Browser version - Update home browser to latest version.
2. Browser cache memory settings.
3. PC memory (RAM and Virtual disk memory) on home PC v/s Cafe PC.
4. Type of connection - Dial Up or Broadband at home v/s cafe.
5. Other open applications can hog memory and cause video not to play.
After comparing you will get better idea why it plays in certain conditions only : Broadband connection, More RAM, More virtual disk memory, Close all other Apps (no wallpaper), Latest CPU, Increase browser cache memory and faster disk.

Then after one hour of saving these go to Settings---->Publishing in your blog and click on Switch to Blogspot.com and save.
Then republish blog to 'www.reallooksforrealwomen.com' without quotes and save.
Note that search engines do not accept frames.

No A records exist for 8lbn.com
Perhaps you should wait if you just changed them as it takes time for the changes to propagate to all DNS servers.
Change your Settings--->Publishing after 6 hours and republish to www.8lbn.com.

You have to add all those four A records and one CNAME record.

Is your domain bought from Google/Blogger? If so check if you got an email confirming your purchase on the day you bought it.
If you got the email you have to login at enom.com by clicking the link in the email. Then you can change the A and CNAME records.
Nameservers are not required to be changed. Only CNAME and A records have to be changed as shown in above post.
My domain is through Netrillium.

I recently purchased my own domain name from blogger. Apparently, it takes 3 days for the redirection take effect.
I can now access my blog from the custom domain but when I type my blogspot.com url, while my blog could still be seen and read, the url remains with the blogspot.com

Then in Blogger go to Settings--->Publishing and click Switch to Blogspot.com and save. Then click Custom Domains--->Advanced Settings--->In Your domain field type in www.MYDOMAIN.COM and replace CAPS and save settings.

I've been struggling with getting myself setup.
Can you confirm a couple of things for me please. Firstly what are the A records that I need - the IP addresses I see listed (216.239.32.21 etc) are pingable but don't respond to nslookup and are not the same IP as that for ghs.google.com so I'm confused as to whether they are still correct.
Also, is the mydomain.com part of the A record entered with or without a '.' on the end - I see it in the examples but I'm really confused.
